A bit
about
us

We are a company of quality operators, smart management and well resourced plant

We are in the business of shifting earth and have done so for over 40 years. We started in northern Hawke’s Bay undertaking general earthworks and extensive forestry roading.  In those days, cabs were a luxury and operators often camped on site.  We developed our forestry roading expertise with a focus on continual improvement, innovation and efficiency.

About 20 years ago, we moved part of the operation into Napier and brought our reliability and solution based approach to civil construction.

Then in 2020 we were bought by Goodman Contractors, which has the same family business style like our own. A good fit. Goodmans have been shifting dirt since 1963 when Richard Goodman and his brother Tony started the business. Now Goodmans is owned by Ricks children Stan, Lance, Vaughan and Marianne.

Since then, we have continued to develop and incorporate new methods to ensure high performance and quality results.  We are the industry leader for bulk earthworks in Hawke’s Bay.

We are very experienced in undertaking bulk earthwork civil construction, including:

  • Project management
  • Well-resourced to undertake works as Head Contractor as well as Sub Contractor
  • Proven track record

We are focused on continual improvement and efficiencies and our use of technology includes:

  • A wide range of plant and equipment with various custom attachments and specifically designed buckets and blades
  • First 3D excavators in Hawkes Bay, with ever expanding capabilities
  • Custom built database providing efficiencies in administration of projects
